Underwater ground failures are the important new topics for tsunami generation. This workshop's purpose is to discuss and develop fundamental studies for identification of underwater mass failures (landslide, slump, fault break, subsidence, collapse) related to tsunami generation. Close working relationship among scientists from different countries and different professional experiences are necessary for tsunami mitigation studies. Modelling of tsunami generation and propagation, paleotsunami surveys, tsunami risks and mitigation of tsunami hazards are main objectives of the proposed Advanced Research Workshop.
